Background: Appendiceal GCA is a tumor which has been misunderstood for decades. GCAs are comprised of goblet-like mucinous cells, with variable numbers of neuroendocrine and Paneth-like cells and lie on the spectrum between appendiceal adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine tumors.
